Hundreds Gather to Celebrate Annual Gold Ink Awards

Industry Printing and Production Professionals Come Together to Celebrate Annual Gold Ink and Hall of Fame Awards

(Philadelphia, PA) --The annual Gold Ink Awards and Hall of Fame Gala was held Monday evening, October 16th in the Grand Ballroom of McCormick Place, Chicago, IL during Graph Expo and Converting Expo 2006. It was an evening of celebration dedicated to honoring some of the brightest production and printing professionals and recognizing some of the best examples of print produced this year.

Each year 8 exceptional professionals from the printing and production industry are inducted into the Publishing Executive Hall of Fame and the Printing Impressions/RIT Hall of Fame. The inductees represent the best of the best, and are honored for their outstanding achievements and contributions to the printing and publishing industries. This year's inductees were:

2006 Printing Impressions/RIT Printing Industry Hall of Fame
- James Hopkins, President/CEO, Hopkins Printing
- Rémi Marcoux , Executive Chairman, Transcontinental Inc.
- Thomas Quadracci, Executive Chairman, Quad/Graphics
- Jesse Williamson, President, Williamson Printing

2006 Publishing Executive Hall of Fame
- Dave Kamis, Vice President/Production and Manufacturing, Crain Communications
- Elaine Fry, Group Director of Manufacturing and Production, Forbes Inc.
- Dave Pelkey, Director of Manufacturing, Merriam-Webster, Inc.
- Joe Duncan, Vice President & Director, Innovation & Technology, Leo Burnett USA

The ceremony began with an introduction from Ned Borowsky, President of North American Publishing Company, followed by a welcome address from the event's Senior Sponsors: Ralph Pasquariello, Vice President, Postpress Product Management, Heidelberg USA, Inc. and Kevin M. Joyce, Managing Director United States and Canada, Graphic Communications Group, Eastman Kodak Company.

Each honoree was presented with his/her award and enlightened the audience with an acceptance speech highlighting some of the best moments and biggest challenges of their career.

The Gold Ink Awards competition, this its 19th year, has earned the reputation for attracting the highest quality of work from printing professionals throughout North America. It was clear this year was no exception as the banquet attendees viewed the Gold, Silver and Bronze winners highlighted through a stunning audiovisual presentation.
