Leading Printing Execs to be Inducted into PI/RIT Hall of Fame

Thomas Engdahl, President and CEO, Brown Printing Co., Waseca, MN.
Thomas Engdahl joined Brown Printing Co. in 1984 and became president and CEO on August 1, 2002. His 21-year career with Brown includes senior-level assignments in general management and sales, where he plied his trade at the main facility in Waseca, MN, oversaw the central sales division in Chicago, as well as served an 11-year stint at the Franklin, KY, facility. Engdahl holds graduate and undergraduate degrees in Industrial and Operational Engineering from the University of Michigan. He worked for Procter & Gamble for 11 years before joining Brown Printing. His father and grandfather operated a bookbinding business in the Chicago area.

Roy Grossman, President and CEO, Sandy Alexander Inc., Clifton, NJ.
Upon graduating from Bucknell University with a BA, Roy Grossman began his professional career in 1974 with Procter and Gamble. He entered P&G as a sales associate, and was rapidly promoted to the position of unit sales manager. From 1977 to 1991, Grossman served as vice chairman of Laurel Printing. In 1991, he joined Sandy Alexander as a managing director. He has played a very active and influential role in the printing industry, as well as in his community. He currently serves as co-chairman of The Print Council, of which Sandy Alexander is a founding member, a national industry initiative to promote the greater use of print. He is a former director and past chairman of the Association of Graphic Communications, an affiliate of the PIA and the metropolitan New York area's largest industry association, and the recipient of the 2005 Association of Graphic Communications Power of Communications Award for Printing and the 2002 Florence B. & Leo H. Joachim Award for outstanding contribution to the printing industry.

Donald R. Samuels, Managing Partner, Pictorial Offset Corp., Carlstadt, NJ.
Donald R. Samuels is managing partner at Pictorial Offset Corp. He is a third-generation manager of this family business, which he co-operates with brothers Gary and Lester. Donald joined the firm in 1975, after graduating from Rochester Institute of Technology with a degree in Graphic Arts Management. He has attended annual executive business programs at both Harvard University and Stanford University. Donald is a member of the World Presidents Organization in the Metro New York chapter, and has either chaired or served on many committees of the Young Presidents Organization, and is a member of the Chief Executives Organization. He is the founder of the Jay P. Samuels Nathaniel Rochester Society Scholarship at RIT.

Michael Marcian Sr., President, Corporate Press, Inc., Landover, MD.
A native of Detroit, Michael Marcian obtained an associate and a bachelor's degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in 1971 and 1973, respectively. Marcian is also a developer and homebuilder in the Spotsylvania, VA, area. Marcian has long been involved with PIA/GATF, serving on various committees and task forces. Highlights include the Executive & Operating Committees, Long Range Planning Committee, Finance Committee and the Insurance Committee; he is also a past chairman of PIA. He is also involved with the Washington, DC, regional PIA/GATF affiliate, Printing and Graphic Communications Association PGCA (Now known as Printing & Graphics Association MidAtlantic). Michael served as PGCA president for 1996-97 and was a member of its Executive Committee from 1989-1993. From 1988-1997, he was a member of the RIT Advisory Committee.
