| Leading Publishing Executives to be Inducted into Hall of Fame
Four to enter PrintMedia Hall of Fame FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Philadelphia, PA - July 2001) -- Four exceptional production executives will be inducted into the PrintMedia Production Executives' Hall of Fame at the 14th Annual Gold Ink Awards Reception and Banquet, to be held September 10, 2001, in the McCormick Place Grand Ballroom during PRINT '01, Chicago, IL. For seating availability, contact Michael Cooper at 888-627-2630 or mcooper@napco.com. Fran Fox is Vice President of Manufacturing for Red Herring. When she first joined Red Herring, pagination was done with paper cut-outs, but Fox changed the way the magazine does business. During the last three years, Fox automated production at Red Herring to convert the monthly analog publication to a bi-weekly digital one. Fox consolidated prepress functions, shortened the production cycle and converted analog workflow. The seventeen year industry veteran and one-time journalism student is a member of Printing Industries of Northern California and Women in Periodical Production. Cheryl Horch, as the Manager of New Book Production for McGraw-Hill Higher Education, her career with the publisher—five years and counting—has been stellar. Her most notable accomplishment thus far has been to build a core group of vendors, including 15 composition shops and one prepress provider, that have worked together non-competitively for the betterment of McGraw-Hill's business and products. Horch leads an active life in the book production community. She sits on the Board of Directors for the Chicago Book Clinic and is a member of the Dubuque Area Graphics & Publishing Association. Ira Finkelstein is the president of Consulting Analysts, a print advertising consultancy based in Wantagh, NY. As president, Finkelstein consults with advertising and agencies to develop, streamline and architect print production workflow. Finkelstein's career in the advertising industry spans more than 35 years, during which he held several management positions with high-profile NYC-based ad agencies. He is an active member of the print production community, maintaining memberships with the Advertising Production Club of New York, Digital Ad Lab, Print Production Committee for the American Association of Advertising Agencies, Association of Graphic communications and the Digital Distribution of Advertising for Publications Association. Lisa Woodard tackles one of the greatest obstacles in publishing: managing ad production. As director of creative services at Lenox Collections, Woodard manages a creative team that designs, executes and produces more than 2,800 ad units for seven catalogs each year. She not only negotiates the annual print contracts, but she also fulfills digital format requests for all copy and image content for print and the Web. The Rider College graduate has managed catalog production since its inception in 1989. The PrintMedia Production Executives' Hall of Fame is co-sponsored by Printing Impressions/RIT School of Printing Management and Sciences. The October issue of Printing Impressions will feature a profile of each of the inductees. For more information, visit goldink.com.
